We rrecently had an extended lunch at the Phoenix. It's in a quiet street away from the general hubbub. Meals and staff were excellent, and the pub has a friendly, comfortable ambience. A great spot to catch up with friends if you're in the area.

Stopped at The Phoenix for a Sunday lunch for two and was very impressed. Welcoming, stylish and one of the best pub lunches I've had in ages - lemony turbot with asparagus - really delicious, served by cheery professional staff - good one!

Love this place. Been a regular. Tonight awful. Forgot one of our orders. Never cleared plates. Slow service. So disappointing. It's a Monday. Normal staff not there. It's Summer holidays. But at £80.00 is that an excuse?

Sunday lunch at the newly refurbished Phoenix found a much improved atmosphere and menu. The food was above average Gastropub fare, with service friendly and polished. The new restaurant interior is well designed, comfortable and excellent for a quiet Sunday lunch. I had a haddock...More
