Top ways to experience nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.

Would have loved to have eaten here but eating elsewhere with family. Lovely feel and friendly staff. Clean. We just had a very reasonably priced beer and soda and lime. Would definitely visit again and eat here too

We visited this pub at lunchtime and enjoyed the vibe so booked a table for an evening meal. Thinking we would spend an enjoyable few hours there we ordered starters and main courses. After a long wait both courses arrived at the same time. When we complained the waiter said sorry but that’s how the kitchen serve it!!! If you want to eat this way then this is the place for you….otherwise avoid this pub and go to The Kings Head, just down the road . See my review of them.

We chose to eat here Friday as it was right next to the Hotel we were staying. The welcome from Neil on arrival was friendly and service was fantastic. We decided to eat there again on Saturday night too. As they also have lovely rooms we would stay here in the future. Happy Christmas to you all. 🎄🎄

We came to London for 1 night to see a show. The Blackbird is a pub with 9 rooms. We stayed in Britton on the first floor. Gorgeous room with all the amenities you need including a welcome beer in the fridge. Well it is a pub after all. Breakfast was included in the price: there was a delicious cold buffet as well as hot. I would highly recommend, staff were friendly and welcoming.

Superb place, friendly staff and friendly punters. Great set of beers available and the food although I never tried it sounded and also looked amazing - prices are not too bad considering it’s London and location

Definitely worth a try if in location

I came her for a one night layover on my way home to California from Portugal and wish I could have stayed another night.

The pub is festive and the staff is very welcoming and friendly
The room I stayed in (The Arnold) was extremely small and on the corner 2nd floor facing the street but the insulation was outstanding. I could literally not hear the bustling street or pub below and was amazed by this. The bed was comfortable but the extreme smallness of this room caused me to spill something because there is hardly a place to set something like a bottle of water or beer down. The only surface is a postage sized table next to the bed. There is a mini fridge and there was coffee and even milk (but bummer it was skim/low fat). There's a nice little grocery store directly across from this pub so I picked up some berries and whole milk for the morning, which it turns out I totally didn't need because of the generous breakfast that is served included in the price of the room.

I meant to stay at the pub for dinner but it was packed at 8pm and there was only a table in the boring back room, so I went for a walk and to my surprise, found an amazing Indian restaurant just a block or so down 'The Masala Zone' WOW! If you have time, this is not to be missed. The romantic decor, the food is top notch! I was sad to miss having fish and chips at the pub but was amazed by the quality of food at this Indian joint. Highly recommend!

The only disappointing part of the experience was that during my breakfast, I had to go to the bathroom and asked 3 different people to not clear my table. When I returned, my juice and water were taken off the table. They poured me new ones. Then when I finished with my warm breakfast (a great egg florentine), I told them again to please not clear my table, that I was not done with my breakfast but was going up to the room to finish getting my bags together and would be returning to my table as I would be bringing my laptop and would be sitting there a while to wait for my airport transport. When I returned, my table had been cleared again! Oddly, the plate with the warm breakfast with only an English muffin (that I was not going to eat) remained. My perfectly lovely chocolate croissant with a few bites out of it was gone. Sadly, they had thrown it away and said there were no more, BUT they were apologetic and said they were remaking me another egg florentine. I said I had already eaten mine and did not need another, but they made it and offered it anyway. I really just wanted that sweet croissant with my cappuccino and it was a goner and they didn't have another even though I saw several taken away in the basket that was left on the buffet table as I was the last one who had eaten breakfast of the hotel guests. They made me a fresh cappuccino, which was nice. Well intentioned, gracious but inattentive / uncoordinated dining room staff.

This is the quintessential English Pub. Me and my adult children had the fish and chips, the beefsteak ale pie, and burger, plus pints of the local ales. All the food was very good, and I would have given five stars except that the advertised “triple-cooked” chips were soggy and pretty ordinary. Otherwise, the pie was superb, the fish crisp and light, the burger good. The ales - wonderful. The atmosphere was vibrant. I was here in 2015, it is just as good now as then.

We stopped in for our first meal as we were waiting for our room at a close hotel to open up. We sat for a bit and then after asking found out we were early and they couldn’t serve immediately. Makes sense. My wife and I sit Fish and Chips. It was good. There were about 6 or 7 other groups in the Pub when we were there. The Fish and Chips weren’t the best we had while in London, but was still very good. Beer selection is good, and there are two TV’s to watch in the bar/dining area. Staff was very friendly.

We went back for a second meal, but there were no empty tables so left.

We were happy with the food and the service during our visit, we had several employees keeping a good eye on us. Again, while not the best food we had on the trip, would definitely return if we were close! Well worth just dropping in!

In the heart of Earl's Court, this pub is big by English standards, with a large bar/lounge facing the road and good size dining room at the rear. We'd had a drink or two there previously and with some of our party particularly keen to experience a Sunday Roast, we decided to book for that here.
We were so glad we did. Firstly, not overly busy. Secondly, beef, pork and chicken were on the menu with yorkshire pudding and a full range of vegetables - they were all excellent. That was complemented by friendly and helpful staff and our Sunday Roast experience was complete.
