We had a day out at Hampstead Swimming Pond. It was £2 to enter. The changing facilities are jolly basic, yet it adds to the experience. There is not much space to sit/lounge on, so get there early. The pond is safe to swim in...More

Beautiful sunny day, crowded but comfortable. We sat in a small area that is a bit hilly but with wonderful shade. Actually a very quiet area unlike the larger grassier area which was more lively. You are not allowed to use your mobile phone, nor...More

Got there with my wife at about 2pm, and it was really crowded on a warm day. Managed to get a spot under a tree with bits of sun shinning through. Water is really warm but very murky so be aware. Overall great experience

The heavenly sense of escape was slightly obliterated by an alcitration between a lifeguard and a French man at about 17:30/4th August . He didn't see the worn out 'no diving sign' ( in addition people were standing over it) and he dived in at...More

Used to be lovely but has fallen victim to it's popularity. There is not an inch of grass on a sunny warm day and the noise of chatting people is very loud. It's far from the oasis of respite it used to be. And if...More

First: the men's pond: not really non-gay friendly. Second: ladies's pond: don't know how it is there, but I heard it's good for women. Third: mixed pond: A lot more packed than the men's (gays) pond. And smaller. Water is acceptable for a city swim....More

The changing is a bit basic and there is no place for naked sun bathing or swimming other than a concrete area that is a bit run down. Friendly feel though

Must admit we found every other pond to swim in before we finally found the ladies pond. Loved it, loved it! Felt refreshed and invigorated. Swam from float to float as not been before and did not want to stray too far. Lovely atmosphere, blue...More

Today the lifeguards in the ladies pond just ruined my day. Be careful if you have dark skin like me because everyone will be white people and they will look at you all the time if you do something "bad". My case, when I was...More

Excellent place to de-stress. Quiet, secluded, beautiful with plants and birds, including little baby ducks and beautiful herons! The water is cool but I found myself adjusting easily and it somehow added to the soothing nature of this place. The water is deep. I'm not...More
