I visited Limehouse Basin early on a Tuesday evening in mid-July. I'd walked the Regent's Canal that afternoon from Camden to it's terminus here. As you can see from the accompanying photos, not much traffic had passed through the locks lately; a thick green algal...More

We have walked the whole length of the River Lea from Leagrave to the Thames. We have done it in stages often using trains or buses to take us back to our starting point although this is not always possible. This was our (almost)last section....More

Having walked along the canal from Hertford in several chunks, Limehouse provided the end to our walk and as we reached the basin the sun was shining and there were many interesting boats to see before making our way to the lock that provides access...More

Great food stalls with communal seating along with boutique, art and niknak stalls. Live music adds to the atmosphere. I had the Creole inspired delicieux burger - beef steak and blue cheese in a 'strang' but delicious bun.

I love to walk down the Lee river footpath, which ends at the Limehouse Basin. Its such a beautiful and peaceful place, you don't feel like you're in East London. On a sunny day, you can hear bird song and see Ducks and Swans and...More
