The Battle of Britian Monument is obviously a very important memorial spot, and offers an admirable sculpture with a breathtaking choice of views.

We came across this large memorial while walking along the embankment. It is an amazing sculpture paying tribute to those who fought in the war. There are large areas of "frieze" showing scenes of all those who took part in the battle but the part...More

Thank you for your great review. The part of “the airmen who seemed to be running out of the monument” is called “Scramble”. It represents the call to scramble when enemy planes were spotted and had to be intercepted.

We have came across this monument unexpectedly during our sightseing the downtown. To my satisfaction, there are also many names of Czechoslovak pilots, which helped Brits in the Battle of Britain in 1940.

Thank you for the review. All the flyers who took part in the Battle of Britain are listed by country; as the countries existed at that time.

This sculpture is on the Victoria Embankment, overlooking the River Thames. It commemorates the British military personnel who took part in the Battle of Britain during WWII. Very poignant memorial with a list of names of those whose lives were lost.

Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square,
and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham
Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just
up the road as well. As captivating as the
architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are
