Venue of the disaster of 1943. The tube station was an air raid shelter. On March 3, 1943, 173 people died there as panic led them to rush in. Some tripped and those on the top of the stairs stepped on those at the bottom.

Pretty normal London tube station. Functional. Normally pretty crowded during peak times. Lots of cool pubs near by.

Great location and very good quick access to the city of course. Busy inside the station and bustling out Bethnal Green station. Regular Central Line method of transport to the city.

Not sure why Bethnal Green Station is listed on here and whether this is for the Underground or Overground station as they are different! There's not much to say as it's just a tube station serving the Central Line between Liverpool Street and Mile End....More

There are two Bethnal Green Stations, not just one. The address details given here are for the Underground station on the (red) Central Line so I have requested Tripadvisor to change the title name to reflect this. Why this is listed as an 'attraction' baffles...More

A really busy station during rush hours. For people living in this area it is a close two or so stops on the underground to the City. For visitors to get to the attractions in Central London and the West End there are good connections....More

Bethnal Green is an area in East London. There is a remarkable story about the station from WWII which states that a disaster occurred in which over 170 civilian people lost their lives in 1943.
