From a Wharf to a Financial Hub!
Canary Wharf was a part of the London Docklands. It got this name because it was here that all the fruits and vegetables from the Canary Islands were unloaded. Sugar and rum were also brought here. It is located on the Isle of Dogs. It has come a long way from being a simple warehouse. Now it is the finance and tech capital of London employing around 105,000 people. You can see tall buildings with glass facades here now. It has three malls, many banks, its own airport, and the largest outdoor art collection of UK. There are more than 300 shops in Canary Wharf nowadays.

    Nice reprieve from Central London
Canary Wharf has some a unique and vibrant energy. Quite different from central London and offer a chance to catch one's breath without feeling space constrained - like being on the tube during core business travel hours. Worth a visit and enjoy lunch.

    Boat trip
Me and my wife went for a boat ride in the river at this location. It was one of the best experiences we had in London. It's around 200 pounds per person, but wonderful experience. Really romantic if you go in the evening.

Amazing area with so much to do and loads of it is free
I was staying in the island gardens area to see a gig at the O2 so a whistle stop visit but absolutely loved it and already booked to come back. This area is so vibrant with so much to see and do. Amazing transport links via the underground (tube) and the DLR which is the dock lands overground trains. Use them the same way as the underground but enjoy the views! Great links to the city

    Great area to visit
Very impressed by how much it has changed. Took the Elizabeth line from Heathrow to Canary Warf, the trip was easy and very comfortable and took about 35min. On arrival early evening the sky line of Canary Warf was very beautiful, walked around the area and it was so nice, clean and full of life. Great restaurants and options on the water, after dinner at the big East which was great and will post a review about it I went to the mall and Waw 3 floors underground that have so many shops and restaurants that are perfect when the weather is hot great. Overall a nice area to go. Regards

Enjoyed a Visit to Canary Wharf
We came to spend the afternoon at Canary Wharf after visiting Excel for an exhibition. we parked in the centre of everything at Cabot Square, everything is pretty much a few minutes walk from the centre and it is easy to find your way around. Canary Wharf is so clean and well looked after and we felt perfectly safe wherever we walked, it was a really cold day but all the shopping areas link underground so you don't have to walk around much outside if you don't want to. There are loads of places to eat and drink, and the place really comes alive in the evening. We will come back in the summer and walk along the river, have a drink outside people watching and do the things we didn't get time to do this time.

    Skyscrapers and restaurants
Vibrant exciting area of London that is very different on a weekend when the vibe changes without all the hustle and bustle of the city workers. Lots of places to eat and walk , views over the Thames towards the shard. Jubilee and Elizabeth line provide easy transport, DlR is more fun as you see snippets of old London such as billingsgate market.

    The light festival was enjoyable
We came for the light festival which was very interesting. There were some impressive light sculptures and it was very nice to get a map and wander around Canary Wharf for a couple of hours. It was too busy unfortunately and we weren't willing to queue for everything. We had an excellent meal in Wagamama.

Canary Wharf is a new area located at the old docklands.

You will find there a lot of new modern skyscrapers and other new buildings.

You can do there nice walks and enjoy the clean area. There are also some new restaurants.
The whole area is clean, modern and valuable.

I enjoyed my walk in the afternoon there.

Don’t come here if you have any form of hearing impairment. The loading dock supervisor constantly turned away in a noisy environment, then later would say things like “if you don’t listen”, “should have listened” etc when the vehicle was in the wrong place.

Security behind glass had a speaker system that appeared not to work, and again in another equally noisy area gave poor instructions, so I gave up trying to find a toilet. Not really ideal

Amazing nucleus of modern high rise buildings including the famous one Canada square, a shame there's very few non designer stores available such as hardware or grocery stores meaning living here is quite a challenge. It is very near the Muslim quarter of London so you are never far from ethnic diversity
