I came across this interesting monument more or less by accident, heading out of Hyde Park towards Mayfair, avoiding the busy area of Marble Arch.

I had been alerted to this memorial by a friend who had visited London before and recommended this memorial. It is actually outside of Hyde Park, we almost missed it even though we were looking for it. I think it is worth a visit. I...More

Came across this as we walked from one location to another. We stopped and marvelled at the beauty. The sculpture has really captured the burdens the animals bore for the human race. The sadness in the eyes tells the story of how the animals did...More

Such beautiful statues of the forgotten war heroes. Very well done. I saw them from the bus and they really caught my eye. Well worth going to look at and habing a look around the area.

This memorial is one of the most heartbreaking memorials I have ever seen. Dedicated to all animals who lost their lives in the history of Great Britain's wars and campaigns it depicts the most amazing b bronze sculptures (donkeys, a dog and a horse) struggling...More

There are so many war memorials in London, but this one is very special. It was designed by English sculptor David Backhouse and introduced in 2004 to commemorate so many animals that have served and died during the British military history. As it says here:...More

Interesting parkette near the Marble Arch with statuary depicting animals that were used in times of war. The caption on the memorial reads "They had no choice" Elephants, camels, horses, donkeys, birds depicted carrying people, jeavy items or messages. Stunning homage.
