Santander Cycles is London's self-service, bike-sharing scheme for short journeys. You can hire a bike from as little as £2. Simply go to any docking station with your bank card and touch the screen to get started. There's no need to book - hire a bike, ride it where you like, then return it to any docking station.

The best way to travel around the city. Cheep, smart and fast. Docking stations are almost everywhere so you don't need use public transport at all. Definitely I can recommend it.

As with so many other people, they charged me extra (42 pounds in my case), which I noticed after a few days. Luckily, they said it was a problem with a terminal and they refunded me the full sum. Maybe it means their customer service...More

These are the heaviest,, slowest and most cumbersome bikes I have ever ridden. I suppose this is deliberate. Transport for London - and first Barclays, now Santander - don’t want inexperienced cyclists hurtling around the city. But the bikes are so slow that, in a...More

It looks as if the bike hire is £2.00 - but no, it's £2.00 just to start, so if you use the bike for a real journey to a place you need to work, then you can end up paying much more. The docking stations...More

Both the app and the machine at the location was useless. Took my money but didn’t let me take a bike. I tried at 2 different locations with the same result. Waste of time and money and caused me a lot of stress.

Hi, Children need to be 14 years or older to use Santander Cycles - the bikes are too big for a 7 year old to use safely. Matt - Community Manager - Santander Cycles
