We visited the House and parked in the car park (around £2 for 2 hours) we enjoyed a run around with our daughter through the grounds and a quick look around the house (free with our English Heritage passes), the house was interesting enough if...More
A 15 minute walk from Chiswick train station, this was my first visit to the house itself having visited the gardens before. If you are interested in architecture this place should be on your list of places to see. Based on designs by an Italian...More
My wife loves the grounds and the conservatory but hates the house because it is unwelcoming and the décor too florid.
I rather liked it, the original guests would have ascended the external stairs to gain entry to the formal rooms which were exactly as...More
The House and Garden are worth a day out, and by public transport the Chiswick South West Trains station is the nearest - you enter the park through the Burlington Lane entrance. Trains are less frequent than on the District Line to Chiswick Park, so...More

Went because we wanted to see Hogarth’s House and the parking is for both. Hogarth’s house was closed even though the sign said it should be open but our visit to Chiswick House more than made up for it.

Hot bank holiday. Lovely meander through the vast gardens. Lots of dog walkers but good that dogs don't come into the picnic area. Good play area and cafeteria. Just by major roads but you would not know once in the grounds. Another great green space...More

Hi, we went on a Tuesday evening around 7pm and travelled by tube and walked to Chiswick House as don't think you can park there in the evening, you can visit during the day and park in the car park of the house, easier in the week as weekends get very busy, you can see the lanterns and gardens for free in the day and they are beautiful but they are not lit and the evening sets them off to a greater extent and they look amazing in the dark.
