We found plenty of books worth buying, but when we tried the bar for a break we were disappointed. The service was extremely slow and after we had waited about half an hour for our drinks we went up and left. No one seemed to...More
Arrived an hour early for a prepaid £8 reading at 6.30 including a glass of wine in the Gower Street basement. No one to welcome guests until ten to six when a bespectacled man looked devastated to see me and said ‘What?’ when I clearly...More
One could easily spend the whole day here, breakfast, lunch, cocktails & dinner whilst reading books in-between.
I love this shop as I used to buy from here when it was Simpsons & so did my Dad years ago.
Visited to purchase a gift and was pleasantly surprised by the open feel layout, calm atmosphere even though this is right in the heart of Piccadilly, a tourist hotspot. I forgot about the crowds outside and spent a few hours browsing the books and the...More
Love this shop- can spend hours in there checking out all the books. The have a nice cafe upstairs and good looks too which is an extra bonus. Helpful staff and a massive book selection for book worms!
We tend to use the 5th floor coffee shop/restaurant as a meeting point because it is so central and right by the bus stop. Although not the cheapest, considering where you are, it is not that unreasonable. An added bonus is you can charge your...More
Of course the place is primarily a bookshop, and it’s a very good one. Browing is a real pleasure. But if you want a relaxing cup of coffee or a very good meal, the fifth floor coffee shop and restaurant are first-rate.

A very large bookshop with many, many good books. They have mastered the art of arranging theme tables with books you can't wait to read. I had difficulties limiting myself - had only hand luggage for the coming flight.
If you like reading, this is the right place for you to visit. The bookshop owns a lot of books belonging to different genres (and languages too), which are divided and quite easy to find out thanks to the structure of the building itself. Despite...More
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing
junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
I believe they do have a good selection of Russian books. The stores easy to find as it’s right opposite Trafalgar Square. Great place to grab a drink while you browse their selection.
Hope you find what you’re looking for.
