You must book for the tour of the West Side and our guide was very knowledgeable, making the history and occupants come alive (well almost!). Then the East side is free, a gentler stroll but again full of interesting sights. Allow yourself plenty of time...More

Then this is one of the best . The East one is good(you go around yourself), the West one you have to take the tour (approx 80 mins) so you only see a small portion but what you do see is excellent with a very...More

We only went to the new part as the old cemetery was closed that day. Karl Marx is buried there if that sounds interesting. They did have some beautiful monuments.

We had a brilliant afternoon at Highgate, we met our guide Peter Mills, he was very knowledgeable, interesting with a light approach. We went around the West cemetery which is guided only. A beautiful and serene atmosphere. The East is not guided. I recommend this...More

I really wanted to visit this cemetery due to some pictures I had already seen, I must confess the pictures don't do this place justice; it is incredible, interesting and surprising. Try booking a tour, it lasts around one hour and is very enlightening. The...More

Steeped in history, the tour was very interesting . Tour guide informative, with a great sense of humour. Surprisingly not well signposted in Highgate Village but it’s a 5 mins walk downhill. Suggest Archway tube station after as it’s nearer.

You can easily cover the east side in 30-45 minutes, it is a lot smaller and more modern. There are some iconic graves of importance, but so much of an architectural significance. There is a very useful map at the gate... More

I believe so, though if you speak to someone at the gate, I would imagine they'd be accommodating. The price to ender the East side is around 4-8 pounds, from what I recall.
