When staying in London I always pop up to Hampstead on the tube for a quiet and pretty wander. Best fruit shop, and 2nd hand book shop across from Hampstead station for your travel reading. The churchyard is famous

The tomatoes need a couple more days in the sun. The second photo shows what a real smashed AVO dish looks like. Nice location and atmosphere, bossy staff.

Hampstead is just north from London and a very cute part of London, that could be almost described as a “village” just on the north to the big city. It has a lovely big park just beside. It’s like getting to know how the locals...More

It’s a quiet, high-end village with quaint tree-lined streets and a feeling of being far away from the hustle bustle of London. I would recommend this if you are tired of being in the city at the end of your visit to London and just...More

If you plan your day carefully there is a lot to see and do. The village is historic once you get away from the rather average high street you will find some charming quaint streets especially to the East and North. Fenton House is worthwhile...More

We visited the Kenwood House, walked through the Hampstead Heath and the Vale of Health and then found ourself, on a Saturday morning, in Hampstead. Lovely place to explore on day when you might want to be away from the London hubbabub. Antique shops, plenty...More

The Hampstead is my new favourite place! We explored for around 2 hours but still only saw 1/3 of the area. There is so much area for picnics and dogs and kids to run around. The lakes were frozen when we visited, but you’ll usually...More

Always worth a visit, particularly to the pergola gardens. Make sure you wear appropriate footwear in winter or avoid the mud

If we consider London as a series of villages merged together, Hampstead epitomises how a village can be just that in an urban city. It looks and feels as though it has come right out of a book, somewhere Miss Marple would live. It is...More

I think the lab was probably part of Mount Vernon Hospital, which is now swanky flats. They kept the old structure. There is a Wikipedia page on it.
