If we consider London as a series of villages merged together, Hampstead epitomises how a village can be just that in an urban city. It looks and feels as though it has come right out of a book, somewhere Miss Marple would live. It is...More

Such a beautiful place to visit. Hard to believe you're in London. Great selection of shops. Huge heath if you like walking. My favourite part was wandering the streets and admiring the architecture. Can't recommend it highly enough.

With a beautiful village, the heath, decent little quirky shops(we spotted one called Sweaty Betty!)and outstanding old houses,Hampstead feels so much further away from central London than the 15 minute drive. We found it not only very pretty but surprisingly quiet...worth a mornings visit.Visited 24th August 2017

A visit to this area is a great break from the busy urbanised London environment, as there still is a village feel to this community. We arrived at the Hampstead Tube station on the Northern Line, and found ourselves in the heart of a suburb...More

Hampstead Village, adjacent to Hampstead Heath, has been one of London's most desirable addresses for over 100 years. The housing stock, beautiful and gracious late Georgian, Victorian and early 20th c. homes, became a leafy mecca for successful writers, artists, actors, musicians, playwrights and other...More

We keep going back to our local Indian Restaurant because it's just so good. In fact, we think the food improves all the time. Staff so very helpful and friendly but not at all pushy.

With local help, we found "The Button Lady", who was delightful to chat with. We enjoyed cream cakes and tea on a rainy day. Just a nice break from the city..and it was via the metro.
