Stopped at The anchor today and possibly the worst lunch ever. Ordered Bloomer cheese and pickle sandwich and a chicken and bacon open sandwich. The chicken had been microwaved beyond its life, tough and inedible. Complained about the cheese sandwich, the bread was stale and...More

My husband and I visited here yesterday we had been here a few times, nice views of the river and pleasant atmosphere. We both ordered the steak and ale pie with mash and according to the menu seasonable vegetables. The food arrived within 5 minutes...More

Had lunch prior to the globe. Had both the sharing platters which have improved since last visit. Good selection of ales despite now being Greene King. Lots of space despite a busy saturday. Still a fav on the southbank.

I really enjoyed having a beer somewhere that's has so much history.. If you drink outside or on the roof terrace you might get free entertainment from the buskers.. It is more expensive than other pubs especially the food. One very important thing which would...More

Lovely pub - attractive, spacious, nice nooks and crannies. Friendly staff too - but the food I ordered was woeful, apart from some excellent chips. Otherwise it was all tough or tasteless. Eat elsewhere, unless you just want chips!

Have been here before with family and enjoyed a nice meal. Visited today and was so disappointed. Food was presented before we had sat down from the bar. The food had clearly been plated and kept warm; tepid and greasy! We won’t be recommending and...More

My husband and I are on vacation and stumbled upon this restaurant. It caught our eye because of the lively atmosphere. It was a gorgeous day out and the seating outside by the water really drew us in. We stood for quite sometime waiting to...More

Firstly can I say that the attached premier inn was good, great staff and clean rooms. The pub, well for a pub that takes 42k a day it’s shockingly bad. You can queue, inside or outside for up to 20-30 mins just to get a...More

The only good think about this place is the location and the venue. Had to wait 15min to get my drinks at the bar, with only 2 people with small orders before me, the bartender was probably new. 2 more bartenders were around collecting glasses...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
