Away from the main tourist action, this former religious meeting hall now hosts an array of independent shopping. An ideal destination for anyone in the market for local designer wear, accessories, vintage and retro clothing. If open, it's worth taking a look upstairs at the wonderful former Methodist arena.

Quiggins/Grand Central in Liverpool is regarded by myself as an institution for the alternative crowd - and when I say institution I mean it in a good way. Band tees, incense sticks, vintage clothing, records, authentic fancy dress items, tie dye, gothic - if you’re...More

Ok. You're not going for food here, or shopping so much, really. You're just dropping in for a little beanie at the outstanding decor. In its day, it must have been marvellous. What a venue. The art deco interior and superbly achitectured exterior are simply...More

Stayed here on a one-night business trip. The place appears to be a former concert hall/theatre that has been converted into shops/markets and small studio and apartment rooms. My single studio room was very small but comfortable although the lack of any toiletries at all...More

I love coming here, even for just a mooch alone about the shops inside. the building itself can hold its own. The shops are kitsch and the ceilings are worth the visit.
