Overview
More
The Cathedral was only completed in 1978. It was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott when he was only 22 years old. It is a great space, without pillars or pews, the space is able to host huge concerts, exhibitions and fine dining on the main floor. The tower is 110m high and is the best view in the city.

This was an amazing experience, the detail and beauty inside are breath taking. The story behind the architect and how it was built was brilliant. You could do with Sun lounges so could continue to look upwards. The cafe was also very good

At Hope Street's southern end stands the neo-Gothic cathedral built of red sandstone. It is the life work of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott (1880-1960) and took from 1904 until 1978 to complete. Size is a big deal here : it is the largest church in...More

I enjoyed a walking tour within the cathedral and I was impressed with its majesty. I will return sometime when there is a service on as would love to hear the choir sing. The interior is so vast that the acoustics must be very interesting.

My friend and I visited the liverpool Cathedral just after visiting the Roman Catholic one up the street. Liverpool Cathedral suffers from the comparison, as unimaginative. It is massive but not elegant or inspiring. The staff were very helpful and our visit was much enhancer...More

Very impressive architechture and worth a visit even if you are not religious. Entry is free but I was happy to donate a few pounds to the ongoing upkeep of the building.

We were told by dock helpers to see the city better by going up this tower instead of on the wheel - they were absolutely correct, the views from up there were amazing as was the trip up. Mostly using two lifts although there were...More
