It is very easy to spend several hours here if you take in the walk around the walls, the prison and the Magna Carta. If you are visiting the cathedral as well then pay for a joint ticket.

Not being one for too many 'old things' I was not prepared to be as wow'd as I was with Lincoln Castle. The outstanding thing for me was seeing for the first time one of the only four surviving copies of Magna Carta. I wasn't...More

Visited with 2.5 year old. Wish we had more chance to stop and read exhibits. Some interactive things for older children and a dressing up area which was fun. Not a ‘fragile’ castle so little one could run around as she liked. A lot of...More

Our guide said prior to the tour that she often ended up with no one left as she completed it. We could see why. We spent too much of the time just standing around.

I'm don't think so, but it's worth checking. I know the castle offer yearly tickets which work out cheaper than single tickets if you're planning multiple visits throughout the year.
