Overview
More
The site was purchased for development as a park in 1897 and to this day is the largest park in Leicester, offering 72 hectares to explore. The main drive features an avenue of trees which were laid out for the inaugural opening in 1899. Within easy reach of the drive are the main built facilities that include play areas, bowls greens, tennis courts and ample parking. The graceful contours of the park are a mosaic of meadows, woodland plantations and formal areas still retaining the country feel. This diversity creates an haven for a wide variety of fauna and flora.

Great park for families and kids gathering and out door activities, especially cycling and walking. A bit far from the city centre.

A nice local park to pass a pleasant hour... Good clean green space with some seats to have a picnic, with sports facilities too.

Been here multiple times with friends to play football, tennis, take a picnic or just chill on the grass. It's popular with dog walkers and kids. There's plenty of space to sit and it's so big you could easily find somewhere not too busy. Squirrels...More

Try out the long slide built into the hillside, the various play areas, sports fields, skate park or box track. There is also a large sanding which is usually very well maintained.
