About
We are a small, family run outdoor company. We specialise in delivering the highest quality ghyll scrambling and canyoning adventures in the Lake District and we have a true passion for what we do. We provide you with the best canyoning wetsuits and equipment on the market. No-one has thicker or warmer wetsuits than us. Our groups are small and intimate to maximise your experience and we are one of the few companies that have "canyoning specific" qualifications. This means you will be in safe hands with a company that truly understands the hydrology hazards and techniques needed within the canyoning environment. We aim to give you the type of memories that will last forever. Minimum age is 12 years and we take out couples, small groups of friends & families.

Myself and my two sons aged 9 (Feliks) and 11 (Oskar) went abseiling with Craig. I have to say there was some trepidation on the part of both Oskar and Feliks, particularly when we arrived at the quarry and they saw its size. However, Craig was masterful in the way that he calmed them and made the experience an adventure that they did not stop talking about for a good number of days. I can say hand on hear that I could not have envisaged a more positive experience. My thanks!

Amazing morning ghyll scrambling up stickles ghyll. Some amazing challenges including jumping into water and climbing up the water fall. Always felt safe and had such a laugh on the way up. Wetsuits keep you warm even in the colder months! Challenging but very rewarding and would 1000% recommend. We loved every minute! Will be coming back to Craig/ Vicky to do more , thanks again!

We had a great experience. Craig is a lovely guy who put us at ease and is very knowledgeable. He was great at capturing all the moments through photos and videos for us to look back on. The wetsuits were very warm even in winter. Thank you very much

Had a great day out canyoning!! We did the Coppermine canyon route which was really fun. Craig was really friendly and knowledgeable, he constantly checked in with us especially to see if we were warm enough however, this wasn't a problem as we felt very comfortable in the kit Craig supplied (even in February!). Would definitely recommend for a great day out in the Lakes. We'll be back for more! :)

Had an amazing morning canyoning in Coniston.
Despite the cold frosty weather we were warm all the way through thanks to the specialized gear provided.
Couldn’t thank Craig enough for being such a good guide.
Would 100% recommend anybody to try this experience even in winter !!

Really cool experience heading down the Coniston Beck on a stag do.
Booking and organisation was straightforward and all requirements and guidance delivered clearly which put the group at ease.
The route was challenging but not too challenging that all did not complete. With a few exciting jumps and slides. We all finished with a smile on our faces and discussed maybe doing the longer one next year.
Great experience, would highly recommend even in the winter months.

Hi, is there somewhere to change out of wet clothes afterwards?

I’m American and wondering how to translate a “scramble”. Is that more than a hike?

This is not a walk over loose rocks!!
You will do a small amount of walking but is more involved wading through water and jumps off embankment into river. Also depending on choice will involve climbing up waterfalls with harness and wearing helmet at all times for jumps. Not difficult walking level. But great fun

This looks like so much fun. I'm coming to the lakes with my partner next weekend for my 25th and this is right up our street, although I've no idea what to book on to. Not too sure on the difference of different activities?
Also do you provide all clothing? Apart from trainers etc
Poached egg.

Hi there.
Really good fun, and although we went towards the end of October the wetsuits we were given were well insulated and warm. Fun and engaging instructor who loved his job. Couldn't wish for anything better!

Are activities still open in November? My boyfriend and I wish to do the ghyll scrambling.

Hi Sophie. Some are I’m sure but others don’t have access in the winter like The Big One. You have to take your boyfriend Ghyll Scrambling it’s the best thing ever! and Crags Adventures is epic, Craig’s brilliant. Message them on Facebook about what’s available :)
