This is a church with an ancient history although that's not readily apparent by looking round the small building in its current form. Light and pleasant, it's worth a visit even if it's just to admire the location by the lake at Bassenthwaite.

A gorgeous church in an isolated but beautiful location, makes me wish I was religious so I could enjoy it even more. Worth the detour to see.

A strange title you say, well this little church is a bit like a desert oasis as it sits surrounded by fields, which are populated by sheep. The sea you ask, well it's next to Lake Bassenthwaite, which is the only lake in the Lak...More

It’s possible to get within about 50yds of the church down a track but you would need to make sure the driver is aware of this access. There are also major water main excavations taking place in the area which may... More
