Derwentwater is stunning no matter what the weather. There’s some great walks in and around the area, but the best one has to be the 10 mile hike round the entire lake.

We now love close to Derwent Water and it really is a place for everyone. Beautiful lake with amazing views. Walk around it, walk part of it, swim in it, get a boat on it... Please just don't leave your litter near it!

I love Derwentwater 10 miles round walk with varying views and contrasts over the water and surrounding fells, something different around the corner. It’s fairly flat but still a good walk, plenty of stopping points to admire the vistas, and whenever I have been never...More

My partner and I took a walk down here on the suggestion of our hotel host. It was absolutely beautiful, peaceful and serene.

We did a short walk around this lake. You can literally spend a whole day here doing the different activities. The view alone is fantastic. What made it extra special was the fighter jet that zoomed past. Worth a trip!

The route I suggested would be impossible with a buggy as you scramble up some rocks on the ascent. You could go up the steps where we descended and come back the same way however I think it would be tough going! You might... More
