When we visited Keswick we realised an ambition by going to the Theatre by the Lake. There appeared to be a very good programme of plays but we went to see The Hoghton Weavers who were excellent and brought back memories with the old Lancashire...More

We visited keswick and we used the toilets at the theatre. Not only do you have to pay 40p to use the toilets, they are in a disgusting state. We begrudged paying to use them and everyone was commenting as they came out.

Excellent play in a charming theatre. Pre-show meal in the restaurant just right and so nice to be able to stroll over to the park and gaze over Derwentwater to the peaks at the head of Borrowdale.

The theatre is so intimate and yet the play was just spell-binding. The setting of the theatre on the banks of Derwent Water is perfect for having a stroll and enjoying a picnic.

We enjoyed an hilarious matinee performance of Jeeves and Wooster. Three actors acted excellently and worked really hard in this very funny, excellent adaptation of the novel. The theatre is a gem of a place, we'd recommend front row of stalls for great value seats...More
