This place is a must visit whilst in the area. The guys work hard to make your day fun. The mines are very interesting and an opportunity to discover the olden days

This museum has been closed more than 4 years but has a current website which suggests otherwise. There is an excellent mining museum but it is at Threlkeld a few miles east of Keswick not in Keswick

Always worth a visit on a rainy day, better than most of similar in various regions I have called in to view, clean, tidy and helpful.

Sadly the mining museum closed in 2013. In its time it was good, kids could even pan for gold. Threlkeld Quarry museum and Honister slate mine would be alternatives.

Please remove this listing as it is no longer there. There is a mining museum in threlkeld and a slate mine at Honister pass but both visits require a car.

The wall isn't very high, more bouldering but a good option if its wet. Shame its moved to outside the town

As this museum is now closed ,unfortunately, due to retirement. Some of these reviewers appear confused as they must have visited the Threlkeld mining museum as they mention the train and the underground mine experience. Although different it is well worth a visit if you...More
