You can't go wrong with any of these climbs in the Lakes. Coniston Old Man has an added interest than jut the views in that there is a disused mine on the climb. The weather we had was superb. The climb is tough in places...More

Beautiful views. The walk is quite steep and relatively difficult if you are a beginner but it is worth it. Try to park in the car park that is closest to the mountain otherwise you will have a very steep walk up Walnar Scar Road...More

The view from the top is amazing and worth it. The walk up the hill is quite steep and can get quite difficult as you go up but the view is great from above.

Came here for a team building weekend with colleagues - enjoying a fabulous cycle ride through the forest, canoeing across and along Coniston lake followed by a walk / hike up the Old Man and enjoying the amazing views along the way

This is a very tough climb but the path is pretty clear. We did the village to the summit in 2 hours. Well worth the pain then walked the ridge.

Hi there, yes as long as the weather is kind. Make an early start and make the most of the daylight hours though. Obviously you want to ensure you get back down in the light! It is stunning anytime of the year. enjoy!
