I never knew that Fletcher Christian was born here! The photos of the flood of 2009 were sobering and the rivers certainly run high and fast here.

Not much to say really other than it's up a side alley, and it's basically a tourist pamphlet on a wall.

Interesting historical pictorial boards illustrating Cockermouth’s past. Well worth reading to find out how the town had evolved and adapted.

This is a lovely display, giving a history/information of Cockermouth, including the Flood levels. There are several shops, quiet, and the excellent Lanes' Café at the end

Rather tucked away this long mural style history wall has some interesting information about Cockermouth and it's origins. Even a passing visit was of interest en route to the cafe at the end.

Saw the wall whilst visiting a cafe nearby. interesting reading. The descriptions of the recent flooding was very good. To see the marker where the floods reached was an eye-opener. A lot to learn about a small town.
