Amazing views of the Lake District sceneries. It was very quiet and not too many people which was great compared to the busy Lake Windemere. I would definitely recommend a boat cruise on Ullswater rather than Windemere.

Slightly quieter and less touristy than Windermere and I much preferred it. Walked round the lake to the little towns (Pooley bridge being busy and lots of pubs!) The steamers on the lake were fab, good view of the lake and surroundings.

Really wonderful place to stay. Angela and David Beattie great hosts and I would defy anyone to make and serve a better BREAKFAST. Myself and my wife stay every 6 weeks between March and December and love our stays.

Beautiful, unspoiled lake. A perfect day to ride the ferry from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding. Make time to visit for a relaxing break in your vacation!

Fabulous stop. Was very busy and had a bit of a problem parking. Car park was a bit costly. Would advise to buy a trust membership

In our opinion Ullswater is by far the best lake in the lake district. Stunning views with hilly backdrops make this quieter lake perfect for a leisurely break. We visited lake Windermere whilst on our break but it was not a patch on Ullswater. Would...More
