This may be a lesser known memorial, but is of huge significance, being on the actual site where Bleriot completed his original cross channel flight in 1909. The decision to depict the actual aircraft full size on the sloping grass was inspired. To find the...More

My husband saw a sign to this memorial but had to go back a second time to find it. You have to park and then walk down a pathway with no indication of how far, but in fact, it does not take much time to...More

Noticing a sign on way to the white cliffs, stopped in on the way back. Don't park on the main road, there is an entrance you can drive down to a car park. It's a 200 mtr. walk to a concrete outline of a plane...More

We stopped off on the way from the Castle to the White Cliffs. It is a really interesting site for it's significance to aviation that could easily be overlooked.

Worth a visit if you are passing, also nice for a walk around as the area is wooded and pretty. Situated just to the north of the castle the Bleroit Memorial is just off the main Deal/Dover Road and has ample parking. It is open...More

We took foreign visitors to see the memorial and none of us were impressed. It is OK to have a quick look at in passing, although they have arranged seating there and the pathways are supposed to represent vapour trails.

I had forgotten that this is the the spot where Louis Bleriot (crash) landed all those years ago, so it was great to be able to visit. It's a simple but effective memorial, a little tricky to find.... drive slowly and you'll find it easily....More
