We popped in for a meal at about 8.30 pm, and were told we had to order quickly because the kitchen was shutting in 15 minutes. I've always enjoyed this place at lunchtime but it was almost empty that evening, so felt rather sad. The...More

I've spent several happy afternoons over the last six months quaffing always-excellent wines in the lovely atmosphere offered by Shakespeare Wine & Coffee House. Favourite wine to date is the Alpha Zeta Amarone on offer - not cheap but quality seldom is. It is remarkable...More

Its my stop of choice for a great glass of English white wine and a long leisurely chat. Haven't eaten here yet but the snacks that are delivered to tables around me always look great. Highly recommended for friends, partners or couples, great atmosphere.

I am a regular at The Shakespeare. Great wine. Great bar staff, and great chips and onion rings. A little while back (with friends) I ventured into the territory of the 'shared platter' - and The Shakespeare had some fantastic platters - Seafood, meat (can't remember...More

I've been here 30/40 times over the last 3 or 4 years. This place was wonderful, with a great wines and lovely selection of reasonably priced nibbles. But it's changed. Same wines. And nibbles that look comparable to the old menu, but now appear on...More
