The gardens are kept in very good order by the groundsmen and the variety of planting is worth taking time to stand and stare. There are a male and female Gingko Biloba tree which I had overlooked for many years but am very glad to...More

Despite considerable rainfall it was possible to walk along paths close to the river to admire the well kept gardens including grass, shrubs and flower beds.

It was a best place in Canterbury, we have been on a day's trip. garden's are peaceful and a long nice walk beside river. If you are a nature lover and photographer you can spend hours in there.

If in Canterbury, don't miss a walk through Wesgate Gardens. We visited in October and it was well worth the time. Though the day was chilly and misting rain, our stroll revealed stunning views of the river, gorgeous autumn colors in the trees and shrubs,...More

We spent a lovely hour here, just ambling, watching the ducks ‘up tails all’ and enjoying a beautiful autumnal afternoon. You could easily pass here and that would be a shame as it is in its small way a beautiful place

Went for a walk around these gardens fairly early in the morning and it was quiet. They are obviously monitored and someone must go litter-picking as there was little rubbish on the ground. I felt that it would have been nice to have a few...More

Had a nice walk through these small gardens but a nice oasis so close to the town. Very busy but not overcrowded.

We came across these gardens by acccident but were glad we found them. A bit of space to walk our dog. It’s a tranquil setting where you watch punts going down the river. Shame about the drunks hanging around.

It is a really good place for a sunny afternoon walk with your partner. If you are in Canterbury you must go and visit Westgate Gardens.

There are about three Park and Ride parks around Canterbury and I would suggest using one of these. Canterbury is easy to walk around but not easy to park actually in the city. Using the Park and Ride solves that problem and... More
