It's always worth stopping by at this impressive statue, in a busy but attractive part of Winchester city centre.

This statue made our day. It is a landmark with historic significance that makes the visit to Winchester absolutely worthwhile. Throughly recommended to include in your foto gallery.

What an amazing city with so much history and so much to see and visit. You could spend a number of days there and just scratch the surface.

The Statue is on a commanding site when you enter Winchester, it's a great photographic opportunity from all sides.

The statue of Alfred dominates the now parking lot but is worth going to see this statue because its the largest I have ever seen.

You've got to visit the statue if you're in Winchester. Towards the evening photos look best with the light in the right place. Right next to the Abbey Gardens. Don't miss the gardens.

Well, what can I say - it’s a large bronze statue of King Alfred. Probably Englands greatest king. It is sited at one end of the main shoppind street, so very easy to get to.
