We went out of our way to find this, walking across town. When we arrived it was 45 minutes before the advertised closing time but the door was padlocked shut.

Great place to visit with lots to learn. A lovely cafe and a gorgeous garden to view. There are some lovely herbs to smell and the bees love this.

disappointing short visit , would have been better with audio or written plaques explaining what your seeing ,lady on reception was great and able to answer my questions, but i feel the admission price was not great value for money.

This is a wonderful and rare example of a medieval merchant's house. It's been beautifully restored and has replica furniture which gives a great idea of how it would have looked in its heyday. No information boards in the rooms (which was rather refreshing really,...More

Another stop on our Jane Austen walk through Southampton, we didn't actually go in as it was closed but I am sure there is something to see.

Although the house is fairly authentic to the times, unless one has a fairly good knowledge of the time period, there'should not much here to enlighten anyone. Talking with the docent later was interesting, but nothing in the house really provides much information. At 10...More

It's a lovely little house. You can see the whole thing in less than 10 minutes, but it certainly is worth the visit and the ticket. There's a toilet too.
