We tried the The Bookshop Alehouse as it looked different and indeed it was. A friendly bunch of chatty customers and a very helpful barman was a good start. The selection of ales is brilliant and the barman knew the story behind each one. There...More

This is a great ale house that ale drinkers and like minded individuals frequent, a friendly atmosphere with staff who are very apt at recommending and describing the drinks on sale.

A semi regular customer for nearly a year, the bookshop alehouse offers a huge choice of ales, lager and cider. Offering a friendly atmosphere in a niche setting, this is one of the best micro pubs around.

I've only given it a 3 due to the parking situation. The place itself is ok, I remember when it was a coffee shop/bookshop and it always had an air of individuality. My other half doesn't drink so we've always got a designated driver, but...More

Great atmosphere, very welcoming staff, high end Saints paraphernalia and a Simon Pegg lookalike permanently at the bar

This is a lovely place to visit - lots of choice for beer drinkers but they also sell wine. The staff are friendly and really know their stuff. there is a real sense of community but strangers are made to feel welcome.
