Walked to this from Southsea Castle, walked out on the peir, which had a large eatery and other stores. I can image this to be a fun place in summer, but was nearly deserted on an early October Tuesday afternoon.
Nice to have a stroll and enjoy the scenery.. pebble beach so not ideal for young chileren but is a pier to walk on that is buggy/wheel chair friendly.
Lots of food places at ok prices and a arcade/fair for the children which is nice...More
Stone beach with plenty of walkway cycle path space and cafes
come down here a lot when at hayling island
boys seem to love throwing stones and watching the hovercraft come in and go out
its clean, easy to access and fun for all

I was staying in a hotel opposite this beach and walked along the promenade a few times. Even though it was 35C the beach wasn't crowded, but occupied by many family groups enjoying the seaside atmosphere
