I hire the Fort for a fundraiser event. It was well priced and very well arranged. I provided them with all the information they required and they laid everything out perfectly. The food - by external caterers - and the staff were terrific. We fired...More

Visited in the summer when the Poppy display was there, great experience. Good information all round, nice gift shop, good parking with assistants to keep everything moving. Wonderful views from the top of the hill.

I'm not in the least interested in guns or war-games, but still found Fort Nelson fascinating. Though mainly spectacular cannons & guns through the ages, the displays also cover the history/politics behind the fort's building and life in the Victorian army. Along with the technology...More

We called in on our way to Portsmouth on a cold, dreary winter day. We only had an hour, so had to rush everything. We all agreed WE WILL BE BACK. I had not been for 20 years and the improvements and expansions are incredible.

Arrived here for a badly timed visit with just 35 minutes to go until it closed and what a place! Really need two or three hours to do justice to this but we saw enough to make us want to go back again.

Even if like me and do no expect to be interested in armoury think again. Yes, it is full of "boys toys" some of which really bring home the horror of the devastation they cause but the exhibition is exceptional. A perfect setting in the...More

Yes, you pay £3 to use the car park - even if you just want to sit in your car and admire the view.
