We visited here and had a lovely wander along the tow path for a short way - there are lovely places for a coffee etc and obviously the volunteers for the canal do a lot of work along here - really wonderful

We were surprised how much wildlife we spotted along the canal - there were fish, dragonflies, all different types of water birds, including grey heron. You can walk from Stroud centre to Stroud Brewery - it’s a really charming walk.

This part of the canal has undergone a rejuvenation and there are lots of interesting cards/boards and bar codes to scan for interactive voiced details. From the smell of Billiard Table cloth manufacture, to historic cranes.

We walked the diverted section of the canal (through the old rubbish dump) past the old mill where it passed under the Dr Newton's Way Bridge. Nice peaceful part of Stroud - though shame about the traffic noise. Lots of picnic benches, and information boards.

Friendly, excellent service from this quirky/hippy cafe - delicious cakes all served in pretty china cups and saucers. Inside and outside seating - very relaxing - thank you!

The Visitor Centre is staffed by volunteers with infectious enthusiasm. There are a number of paintings and illustrations of the canal when it was working and the canal itself provide a very pleasant walk.
