Sadly closed at the moment
Sep 2020
Even though it is closed at the moment there are a lot of placards in the windows so you can get a bit of history of Rye by reading them. Don't know when it will reopen. It's a lovely building.

15 minute show
Nov 2019 • Couples
It is well worth visiting to listen to the 15 minute show and see the model of Rye which brings the really interesting history of Rye alive. I seem to remember it cost about £3 per person.

Interesting visit
Nov 2019 • Couples
Contains a model showing the town of Rye through the ages. This is accompanied by a recorded talk explaining how Rye grew and changed over the years. Upstairs they have an interesting collection of working penny arcade machines.

Spooky Ghost walk
Oct 2019
This is not a themed all singing all dancing special effects walk with actors. All you get is the Town Crier in his robes and a lamp but wow what history, no script. Nearly three hours walking round with atmosphere on Halloween that any film studio would die for. Take your camera there are so many ghosts they out number those on the tour. If someone touches your shoulder don't turn round it could be one of the monks or even worse a murderer!!!!!!!
Great little presentation to start using the Rye town model - sad to here that this may be moved all out - come on council support your town that is unique don't skimp promote it 30 plus people thought this was great.. or the ghosts might just have the last laugh.

"Ghost walk"
Oct 2019 • Couples
This is the best ghost walk I've ever had. It's only £10 per person and takes about 2.5h-3h. It was a horrible weather when we did this but as it was so interesting we stayed till the end. Includes a lot of history of Rye too. Recommend to book it well in advance.

Very reasonably priced and well worth the 30 minutes to watch the history video around the old town. Really excellent model of the old town as well that helps put everything into perspective

Glad we went to hear an overview of the history of Rye
Sep 2019
The small light and sound show was rather old school, but still an interesting presentation to get a better understanding of the history and geography of Rye. It's only 15 minutes or so, but we found it helpful/enjoyable.

They had me at penny arcade
Sep 2019 • Couples
I knew I would be visiting when I saw there was an old fashioned penny arcade, I’m a sucker for them. They are dog friendly which was a massive bonus too as it meant we could go in together. The penny arcade was small but packed with machines.
The model show was extra money but well worth it, it’s a really interesting way of finding out the history of Rye.

When my grandson was little he used to,spend ages in here with his great nan my mum BUT this was when she was able to walk....
We wished we could take her again but there is no wheelchair access so it’s out of bounds to us all as we can’t leave mum outside
