We took a circular walk right around the whole reserve - so taking in the beach, the marshes, Camber Castle and the odd bird hide. If you do this, note that there are livestock (sheep and cows) in some of the fields, so if you...More

Lovely views along the coast to Camber and Hastings. Great bird spotting, including terns nesting and avocets feeding. Good safe paths. Good car parking. Nice little harbour area to have breakfast as well.

We love this place! We did a 6 mile walk from the harbour along the River Rother, then along the sea front up to Winchelsea then back through the reserve. It’s stunning and there’s so much to see.

We did visit at Christmas - so ...well I needn't tell you what the weather was like! The tide was also out - it's very high in the picture (main) - I looks far less attractive when the tides is out.

Sorry - might be too late - yes it’s possible to walk to Rye Harbour out of the town. It’s not a pretty walk but a footpath along the road.

The Rye circular walk via Winchelsea is about 7 miles, but there are are plenty of shorter (or longer) ones you could choose.

Gill, a bike is the best way to get around. The private tarmac road extends for about 5km and there are other tracks to make circular routes.
