Amazing to see the ruins left behind and follow in the steps of the monks of old! Lots of big free standing wall remnants from the original structures with plaques dotted around with information and pictures reimagining how it would have looked before along with a model of the whole site. Wandered around the ruins on a treasure hunt with my granddaughter looking for clues. She thoroughly enjoyed herself looking for clues around Lewes. But I digress. The ruins are a peaceful place to wander around.

A great time had by all walking around the ruins watching some tennis and cricket with loads of room for a picnic and the kids to run around and play football etc. Clean and well kept grounds

Our four-year-old loves ruins lately (having recently visited Box Hill), and was absolutely delighted with the Priory Ruins in Lewes. It's a fascinating place, the remnants of an ancient monastery destroyed as part of Henry VIII's purges, but beyond this history it's also just a really cool space, in a big parkland where you can chill out and spend a fair bit of time if you want. …
