More
We are a family friendly museum and we attract all ages. We aim to educate, inspire and to honour the sacrifices made by the members of our Regiments. Our displays cover four floors and take you on a 300 year journey through time. Our artifacts have amazing stories to tell, some will surprise you! Don’t forget to visit the roof for panoramic views of Dorchester and the Dorset countryside. The Museum is fully accessible with a lift to every floor (apart from the roof), we encourage people to take photographs – no flash and share their visit to the Museum with us. Due to the nature of our collection only Assistance Dogs are allowed in the building. We have a small car park at the back of the Museum for visitor use. If you are a UK Taxpayer you can Gift Aid your admission and enjoy a free annual museum pass at no extra cost!

A very good local regimental museum with some fantastic exhibits. You could Easily spend a few hours in there. There is good parking nearby and it is only a short walk into town. Will hopefully visit again when down that way.

Dropped in for an hour and spent over three there without realising it. Excellent displays and information intelligently presented. Easily one of the best museums I have ever visited, and to be recommended even to those not especially interested in military matters.

Whilst focusing on the regiments represented by the Dorset region this is an excellent representation of the British Army in general from the 1750’s to the modern day. The displays are well documented and interesting and the local area is rich in history, especially around...More

Hello, thank you for your question! We do not have a coffee shop or restaurant at the Museum but we are very close to many local cafes / restaurants. Best wishes, The Keep Team
