A cool and cheap way to save your legs and get to the top of the hill to see the castle. Lovely old style funicular.

I was surprised that there are no concessions for disabled people - these people are the most needy of this lift, yet they had to pay full price. On a + note, the views as you ascend are amazing!

We were lucky enough to experience the Funicular Railway on a recent visit to Bournemouth this April. An inexpensive way to step back in time and imagine yourself in Edwardian Bournemouth. Give it a go if you can!

I was talking to some local who said it was under discussion as to if it would be reopening after being closed following landslide. There was no activilty there when I visited, just lots of safety barriers

Such a shame that this Edwardian masterpiece and piece of history was destroyed and needs renovating, but they are aiming to get it back in 2018
