We'd booked & paid for a party of 4 for 4pm Sunday. Having parked we checked in only to be told that the car park gates would be locked at 6.30 so we'd have to move our cars off site. They said it would normally be shut at 7.30 but either way we should have been informed of this when we made the booking. On a normal game of golf you can expect to take an hour per person as a rough guide and as we had 2 learners would be taking longer than that. The nearest parking we could find was over 1/2 mile away so taking the clubs to the cars after a round of golf was quite tiring as it was also up hill. As it was, bad light stopped play at 7.30 and the gates were still open! The course itself was the worst I've ever experienced and in a lot of places was like playing on a ploughed field. Absolutely no care and attention have been given to this course. The course map on the back of the score cards is practically impossible to read as it consists of very thin dotted lined depicting each hole, with the hole number superimposed on the middle of the line so not showing where the start or finish are. The lines are so thin on the dark green background that I couldn't even see most of them. As this was a game with my children for my 63rd birthday it was a doubly disappointing experience.…

Played the 18 hole Lakes Course as a two ball. This course has great potential to be an excellent course but in order for this to happen it needs money spent on it and for the owners and staff to tighten up on the dress code of some of the players, you don't expect to see people on the golf course playing in jeans and t.shirts. The greens were very woolly and slow and full of pitch marks which you had to repair before you could even think about putting your ball, you also need to hit the ball straight off the tee other wise you end up in the long penal rough either side of the fairway, which the group in front of us did on every hole and seemed to take forever to look for their ball, don't think they knew about the new ruling of 3 minutes to look for your ball. Providing cheap golf does not mean you have to compromise on course etiquette and dress code. On a positive note the staff in American Golf are brilliant, friendly, chatty and knowledgable, the store is well worth a visit and Shane and staff will be able to answer any questions you have about equipment or your swing.…

Popped along here on a rainy Friday with my boyfriend. Hit a few balls off the driving range which was fine but the driver I hired was half crumpled and really should be in the bin. We braved the weather to play the dinosaur adventure golf which clearly had a lot of thought and money put into it. Fun holes and entertaining Dino effects. Unfortunately the water features had quite a bit of rubbish in and could just do with a bit of a tidy up. …

17th and 18th July My wife and I, our daughter and her partner had a very enjoyable time playing crazy golf at Playgolf centre (Iford golf club}. You will find it if you carry on past the Tesco entrance. We had such a good time on the Wednesday that we went back on Thursday. Good bacon sandwich in the café. If we still lived in the area we would use it frequently, unfortunately we had to say farewell to our daughter and drive back to Cornwall.…
