Normally we go to the beach at Sandbanks but thought we'd try Hengistbury for a change. Glad we did. We visited on a Thursday afternoon in June and pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Gorgeous day. Nice walk up the hill, if you venture...More

Came here for a walk on a Sunday morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great views from hengistbury head. Started getting a lot busier around lunchtime so would recommend getting there early.

The head is a protected, car free, site of special scientific interest. You reach it by parking at the large park and then either walking round or riding the little "land train". There is a choice of a walk along the harbour shore line, along...More

Beautiful, varied scenery which is clean and well kept. Great to see beach, forest, wetlands, wildlife, beach huts were lovely. The disappointment was the land train - there weren't enough carriages - it was a dull day (can't imagine on a summer day) and a...More

Excellent walk over the cliffe tops to a lovely day beach. Very clean and quite. You can catch a small ferry to muddeford to the quay with nice pub.

Yes, although I would suggest keeping dogs on leads due to live stock but awesome views. Visit the Hungry Hiker after your walk as they have a good selection of light bites.
