This short 0.6 mile walk on the South West Coast Path has great views across St Ives Bay, and out to the lighthouse on Godrevy Island just off shore. Children will love the long beach, as well as the island and the lighthouse and the tales of shipwrecks. A good walk in spring, when the coastal grasslands are full of wildflowers and fulmars nest noisily in the cliffs.

The main car park can be busy due to the surfers but beyond the National Trust check in there are further car parks a short drive towards Godrevy Head. The walking is excellent and not onerous, take advice from the NT staff.

I walked from Hayle to Godrevy. The sand is very soft and hard going in places, but worth it for the stunning scenery as you approach the headland.

Great views across the bay to St Ives. A delight to see about 80 seals in Mutton Cove and in May, the wild flowers are a delight. The National Trust carpark is very expansive with lots of room to spreadout.

This is a dramatic stretch of coastline & worth the walk from the car park. The waves crash down on the cove below, the power is incredible. Views out across the bar are awesome

I return to Godrevy whenever I go to Cornwall. Spectacular views, seal-watching, prehistoric burial site, sand and sea - what more could you want... an excellent cafe. Yes to that too!
