Over the years my daughter and I walked about 400 miles of the Coastal path, not always in sequence but we have walked from Minehead to Lands End in a series of weeks taken in mainly school holidays.A route that we have taken at least five...More
Got the bus from St Ives to Zennor then walked back. Start off with a snack/meal at the Chapel Cafe in Zennor. The route is well signed and easy to follow but it's up and down and quite uneven. The 6 miles back to St...More
We were staying in St Ives so took the train to Lelant Saltings ( more trains daily than from Lelant Station) and walked the coast path back to St Ives, stopping off for lunch at The Carbis Bay Hotel ( dog friendly on the veranda)....More
We had walked for 10 days from Boscastle on route to Carbis Bay hotel, so we hopped on the scenic line for the experience, £1 each. Such a lovely branch line and not to be missed, we used it a few to.es over the next...More
Love the coastal walks either side of St Ives.

Most of the Coastal Path is very well sign-posted. We used an OS Map to plan a circular walk from Halsetown, out to coast path west of St Ives, then back through St Ives and back up to Halsetown. We parked on the roadside in Halsetown. Sorry I'm not from the area so don't know where John Fowlers is, but if you only want to walk for 2 or 3 miles then the section of coast path immediately in/out of St.Ives is very easy. Hope this helps you a bit.
