This is a delightful beach which is often sheltered from any wind. An absolute favourite of mine, there are lots and a really good cafe.....what’s not to like?!

I have been fortunate enough to be visiting this beach for 50 years. My wonderful, now gone, parents took me as a baby and I have wonderful, wonderful childhood memories of playing on the sand with friends who went for the same two weeks as...More

This is probably the smallest and quietest of the four beaches in St. Ives and one of my favourites.

A bit more sheltered than the others. Ideal for young children. Nice little cafe and loos nearby. Nice and clean and well Looked after.

This was a really small cozy beach. Due to it being small, it also meant it filled up pretty quick and there was lots of family with huge wind breaks taking up large areas leaving no where else to sit on the beach. A shame...More

In the last week of September it was warm enough to hit the beach one last time! We grabbed our folding chairs from the rental cottage and headed to Porthgwidden beach! Sitting against the rocks we read, chatted and popped down for a swim! It’s...More

This is a lovely sandy beach , great for children - but beware steeply shelving at high tide. I saw a seal there on 2 days too! There is a cafe with takeaway facility and toilet (at the top of the very steep access slope).

Really love the beaches and ocean views in St Ives. Bit windy in some places but Porthgwidden is sheltered and has a lovely size bay with loos and a cafe. Perfect to swim or just lounge and read a book.

I love this beach. away from the crowds and picture postcard perfect. I love st ives fullstop but this was a good opportunity to get away from the town

On our visit there was a "no dogs allowed" sign at the entrance to the beach.there is however a dog friendly beach a five minute walk away.
