I've been to the Tate St Ives many a time, but was really looking forward to checking out the new extension. They have built it into the hillside. By creating a flat roof with light wells, the borrowed light floods into the new galleries. High...More

Don't visit Tate St Ives if you're expecting to see paintings of lovely Cornish landscapes. If you understand modern art - and somebody out there must do, I suppose - then you might love it. For the rest of us, the best thing is probably...More

This Tate has just undergone a major extension with excellent new galleries. The Cafe views and reasonably priced menu makes for the perfect place to indulge the senses and relax. Highly recommend.

Brilliant art with an equally good lunch on the roof with stunning views.Service was excellent and only criticism is that they should be open for dinner as well.

Last year the exhibition was very poor but this year it had improved a lot with the Patrick Heron exhibition but it’s still excludes current local artists who make this town vibrant.

Lovely cafe with great views of the beach. We just had a coffee but they have a nice lunch menu. It does get very busy.

I echo the previous comment about the café. My heart sank when I saw that it was one of those places where you have to wait to be seated. As a short, insignificant, older woman on my own, I am usually ignored and this was...More

First, the building and views are a great part of why this gallery is such a pleasure to visit. Add competent, pleasant staff, a nice mix of modern styles and the Patrick Heron exhibition and you have a very fine visit. We were pleasantly surprised...More
