The Acorn is in the centre of Penzance, 10 mins walk from home for me. It’s quirky, atmospheric and has a bar, run by friendly volunteers. Reasonable price for tickets, we paid £10 each for tickets. Had a great time in the Cabaret bar, got a table in front of the stage to watch Sarah Larkman and Elliot Hall preform..... they are both fantastic musicians, each playing a variety of instruments, harmonica and Mandolin, as well as guitar.

They played original music as well as a wide variety of Dylan songs.... fabulous!

Top quality venue which attracts some big names, well worth a visit when you come to Cornwall, friendy and welcoming staff and not too expensive.

The Acorn is a very small theatre and has a great variety on their programme. We attend frequently and see a great variety of acts, BUT, in future we will check whether or not the performance will be seated. We have always been to seated performances and assumed that seating was normal. Tonight we have been VERY disappointed and come away without seeing the performance. We arrived only 5 minutes after the doors opened and 55 minutes before South were due to perform, and only at that stage did we discover that we would have to stand! Unfortunately, due to an injury, it was not possible to stand for 55 minutes before the performance started, plus the length of the gig. What a waste of £40!

Small theatre run largely by volunteers. Well stocked cellar bar. Small crowd when we went but still a good atmosphere. Good mix of planned events.

Do check it out if you're in the town.
We visited several times during the Golowan Festival - quirky, folky, great atmosphere - do go & explore it.
It is licensed too.
By the way theres no parking as it's right in the town centre.

Love this little theatre, mainly manned by volunteers. Good for live music, theatre etc. There is also a super little bar, with an excellent choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The coffee is good too! We are so happy to support this venue.

Love this place! One of the best venues we've ever been to for live music.
Brilliant acoustics, even right at the front. Lovely volunteer staff and superb cider 😄
Saw Willie and the Bandits (supported by Black Balled who were also AMAZING!)
Thank you all and we will definitely be back.

We've been going to The Acorn for over 20 years now and despite its many trials and tribulations it just keeps on keeping on (bit like Penzance itself really). Our last visit was to see the lovely and informal "Salt Road" a mix of storytelling and music - just a shame there weren't more people there. Long may it continue

Just seen The Bookshop Band kick off the Penzance Literary Festival. Fantastic evening at The Acorn, which is the hub of the Festival. The Bookshop Band are wonderful singers, songwriters, and musicians. The upstairs auditorium hosts the bigger acts and the cosy downstairs bar area provides a caberet-style venue for a more intimate show. Sign up to be on The Acorn's mailing list so you don't miss the amazing variety of acts that can be seen and enjoyed.
