A pedestrian street with a reasonable variety of shops, including a number of art galleries. Lovely architecture, as with a lot of the centre of Chester.

The buildings are lovely, however we didn't feel that this area stood out more than other Chester rows. There are perhaps more independant shops in this area, but not markedly so. If we hadn't known it was called the Independant Quarter we wouldn't have guessed...More

Not much of a shopper but I certainly enjoy the lovely architecture in the Watergate Street Independent Quarter. Lots of boutique style shopping outlets, not so much your big name brands, lots of pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants and it's a busy and vibrant area. Well worth checking...More

Lots of interesting individual shops. Makes a lovely change from the standard High Street chains. If you want there to be individual small businesses please visit and support them. Some examples of the best and worst architecture in Chester. Enjoy the visit and walk right...More

One of many good streets to wander along when visiting Chester, independent retail shops and some decent places to eat/drink.

Just as attractive as the main shopping area of Chester with its quint buildings and cobbled street, this area benefits from having reasonable selection of independent and different types of shops. Certainly worth a slow wander.
