An easy way to get a feel of the city. Probably good to get a guided tour, though I have not tried it.

The walls are currently undergoing restoration work and therefore the amount you can walk the walls are limited due to parts being blocked off. Still a fantastic view of the city in some parts.

This is one of my favourite towns and walking the walls give you a different perspective of the town and lets you get a feel of what it must have been like.

Sorry for the delay in replying. The wall is free and open at all times. No guided tour but plaques explaining local sights and information at various points along the wall. The castle keep is free to to look around.

Loads of car parks in the centre, Grosvenor Hotel car park entrance - 1 mins to walls. Law Courts / river area car parks - 1 mins to wall. Race course / Market area car parks (lots of them) - 1 mins to walks - hope this helps
