Excellent views of the city, both inside and out - cathedral close, Roman parts, the canal below - lots of ways to get up and down, interesting bits with written details - the best bit of Chester, and it's free!

The walls are spectacular and well kept (One part closed for major works) with points of interest boards all the way round. Some spectacular views even in the wet weather.

Beautiful stroll around this afternoon. One of Chesters gems. Thoroughly enjoyed our walk with an ice cream.

A varied circuit that takes in many different elevated views and aspects of the city including its many historical sites, the cathedral, waterways and the race course. You can drop down into the city at numerous points inorder to visit sites of interest or the shops.

This wold have been so much better on a sunny day as the views would have been great. Some more details on the signs might have helped with the historical side. Will do it again in the sun!

We walk Chester walls as much as we can. An easy 2 mile walk with few steps but giving fabulous insights into a lot of what this great compact City has to offer.

Sorry for the delay in replying. The wall is free and open at all times. No guided tour but plaques explaining local sights and information at various points along the wall. The castle keep is free to to look around.

Loads of car parks in the centre, Grosvenor Hotel car park entrance - 1 mins to walls. Law Courts / river area car parks - 1 mins to wall. Race course / Market area car parks (lots of them) - 1 mins to walks - hope this helps
